Hinoki has a fresh, yet deep woody scent which is familiar and clean - perfect for instilling a sense of calm and relaxation.
This Hinoki comes from a long established and sustainable plantation situated in the mountain highlands of Taiwan. Hinoki comes from plantations in the central mountain regions of Taiwan, where commercial operations were established as early as 1895. Favourable growing conditions and diligent farming practice ensured the industry was successful, solidifying its place as a product of true cultural significance. A prized wood and national treasure, Taiwanese Hinoki is celebrated both as a construction material and for its beneficial health properties. To achieve a higher quality and more defined scent our incense uses top grade wood carefully selected from left over cosmetic grade logs. This ensures a brilliantly sustainable and exceptionally fragrant end product.
All Subtle Bodies incense sticks are pure wood products with no added perfume or fragrance. Each burns with a distinct, yet delicately scented smoke trail.

"Completely free of perfumes, oils or additives our incense is a genuine expression of pure, fragrant wood.
To create the finest natural incense available, we work closely with specialist artisans worldwide - all who have a lasting connection with the type of wood they choose to focus on. With each incense a different raw material, variations between them are beautifully apparent - not only in the scent but the physical appearance and texture of the wood as well.
Unlike other incense on the market, our Japanese style sticks have only two ingredients; the fragrant wood as their name suggests and a natural binding wood from either Machilus thunbergii, Litsea glutinosa or Phoebe zhennan.
This single origin approach ensures full transparency, with a genuine understanding and appreciation of each incense."
