THE TRADITION
Kawakawa is a traditional Māori plant, used in rongoā (medicine) and as a ceremonial taonga tapu (sacred treasure). For physical ailments it is used to purify the blood and aid the recovery of inflammatory skin conditions, like boils, eczema and acne. Kawakawa is also used as a soothing digestive tonic and warming circulatory tonic.
THE SCIENCE
Kawakawa shows a positive effect on glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity, taken after meals. Reducing the risk of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
Directions Infuse 1 teaspoon of your herbal tea in freshly boiled water for 5 minutes or longer. Drink 1 to 3 cups daily.
Ingredients 100% New Zealand Grown, Wildcrafted Kawakawa Leaf (Macropiper excelsum).
All dried herbs are wild crafted or sourced organically when available. Non organic herbs may be used when organic herbs are unavailable.
