Licorice Tea

THE TRADITION

Licorice is traditionally used to restore the body through long periods of stress. It is also known as a soothing anti-inflammatory remedy for the mucous membranes, such as sore throats and coughs, ulcers in the digestive tract or inflammation of the bladder. 

THE SCIENCE

Licorice root acts upon cortisol and mineralocorticoid receptors, which has the therapeutic effect of decreasing inflammation. Because of this action that effect mineral balance, lowering potassium and increasing sodium, it impacts kidney function and can lead to increased blood pressure.

DO NOT drink licorice root tea if you have high blood pressure or a kidney disorder. 

Directions Infuse 1 teaspoon of your herbal tea in freshly boiled water for 5 minutes or longer. Drink 1 to 3 cups daily.


Ingredients 100% Licorice Root* (Glycyrrhiza glabra). *Organic.
